Understanding Maui's new travel requirements starting October 15th

On September 16th Governor David Ige confirmed that on October 15th travelers can avoid the 14-day mandatory quarantine.

The state will begin a pre-travel testing program. If travelers get a negative COVID-19 test within a 72 hour window before their flight arrival in Hawai‘i they can avoid the 14 day quarantine.

At this time CVS and Kaiser Permanente are testing partners. The test cost is approximately $120 to $140 at travelers expense and varies in different parts of the country.  Lt. Gov. Josh Green said arriving visitors will need to quarantine until they get their test result back.

Also travers will most likely have their temperatures checked and will need to fill out a health form. If a visitor arrives without the negative test results, they will be required to quarantine for 14 days or until they provide negative test results.
