With over 18 years of experience, Maria Sims is here to give you the best possible service and has incredible negotiation skills. She graduated with honors from high school and went on to major in Management Information Systems at the University of Illinois. Maria did graduate work in Computer Science at DePaul University in Chicago. Computers were always her passion as she excelled at them easily. From managing the schools newspaper to year book she was excellent at technology.
While on a trip to Kauai in 2001 after traveling and working with computers for nearly 15 years, Maria decided it was time for a change of careers. She had always loved real estate and had bought her first home right out of college. Maria was determined and after 2 weeks of focused work, she had her real estate broker’s license. She joined RE/MAX in Chicago right after she completed her license. After a number of years with RE/MAX, she decided to move on to another brokerage that was more focused on her specialty with Luxury Homes. Maria joined Sotheby’s in 2004 and was able to flourish in the Luxury Division. #1 Listing Agent.
By 2007 she decided it was time to try her hand at her own brokerage. She did exceptionally well at managing her own office until a wonderful blessing came along. Maria and her wonderful husband, Dan, became pregnant with their first child. This changed everything as Maria decided she wanted to raise her son in Maui. Her love of Maui was apparent as they bought 12 acres of land on their first trip to the island in 1999. For years she had traveled back to Maui 2-3 times per year on longer and longer trips. In 2010 she took the plunge and moved to Maui on New Year’s Day. After a few months of double managing her company while she was pregnant, she decided to sell her brokerage to another company and take some time for her son. She now has 2 that mean everything to her. She is thrilled to support the people of Maui and help them make their dreams a reality.
In 2010 Maria joined a very solid company known as Keller Williams Realty Maui. Maria had loved the technology aspects and educational tools that Keller Williams had to offer that did not exist in other companies. She quickly excelled and by 2013 was the top listing and buyer’s agent in the company. She continued her #1 position in the company until 2017 when the company merged with KW Island Living. Maria joined the Luxury Division which allowed her to refocus on her Luxury Specialty. As a member of KW Luxury Homes International and the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing, Maria brings luxury to the Island of Maui that is unsurpassed.
